Working Knowledge wins Business Partner award from Corporate Partner MITIE

Working Knowledge has been recognised at the 2014 MITIE Foundation celebrations.

The Business Partner award acknowledges the ongoing commitment that Working Knowledge has made to provide meaningful work experience for young people in Further Education.

MITIE, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing company has been a corporate partner of Working Knowledge since October 2012. The partnership has seen 72 MITIE employees attend over 50 Working Knowledge activities delivering meaningful work experience and employability opportunities to thousands of students.

Stephen Barthorpe, Head of Community Engagement at The MITIE Foundation, explains how this partnership fits in with their existing sustainability programmes:

‘MITIE’s entrepreneurial approach and passion for inspiring the next generation of employees is demonstrated by our commitment to invest directly in education via our own ‘World of Work’ programmes and vocational Skills Centres.

Our partnership with Working Knowledge enables our employees to take on roles as Business Volunteers in Dragons Den style enterprise projects and provides us with valuable opportunities to join with other organisations in helping young people to gain additional valuable skills and qualifications.’
