Arran works for Henchman – a specialist in tripod ladders for the agricultural sector. After spending his first six months working in all aspects of the business, he’s now focussing on digital marketing.

Henchman recently employed a marketing manager to boost their marketing. But fortunately, they also spotted my interest and potential and decided to invest time and money in helping me upskill – which in turn helps them further boost their marketing efforts!

I’ve been on the programme for about three months and although it’s still early days, I’m really enjoying it and can already see my progression. I’m applying my new-found knowledge to create better thought out marketing strategies and campaigns. 

A highlight for me has been rolling out a successful Black Friday deal. We gave a free gift to customers and I created the supporting promotional images and banners. The promotion went really well and we saw a spike in sales in a month that’s usually really quiet for us, so that was rewarding to see. 

My training has also benefited the whole company. Quite early on in the training, apprentices are asked to [assess the business’] marketing activities, which enables us to step back and look at the big picture. Straight off the back of this assessment, I suggested a monthly newsletter [that] keeps our name at the top of customers mind while reinforcing that we are a helpful and caring company.

Just three months in and it’s been brilliant to see all these positive changes! Lots more to come!
